Beyond the Rulebook
What happens when the rule book is no longer useful, or worse, was never written in the first place? In today’s fast-moving electronics landscape, we’re increasingly asked to design and build what has no precedent, no proven path, and no tidy checklist to follow. This is where “Design for Invention” begins.

STI Electronics Announces New Recipients of the Jim D. Raby/STI Scholarship
April 22, 2026 | STI Electronics Inc.Estimated reading time: 1 minute
STI Electronics, Inc., a full-service organization providing training services, training materials, analytical/failure analysis, prototyping, and contract PCB manufacturing, is proud to announce the latest recipients of the Jim D. Raby/STI Scholarship: Ashley Brito, Process Control Technology; June-Ann C. Richards-Owens, Advanced Manufacturing; and Jayden Deon Jones. These outstanding students from Calhoun Community College have demonstrated exceptional determination, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to excellence in their technical education.
Established in 2004, the Jim D. Raby/STI Scholarship honors the legacy of Jim D. Raby, a pioneer in the electronics manufacturing industry and a strong advocate for education and workforce development. The scholarship is awarded annually to students enrolled in Calhoun’s advanced manufacturing or technical programs and is based on a range of economic and academic factors. STI Electronics helped establish the criteria for the scholarship, though recipient selection is handled independently by the college.
“This scholarship represents everything my father stood for—hard work, passion for the industry, and belief in the power of education,” said David Raby, President/CEO of STI Electronics, Inc. “We are honored to support students who share those same values and aspirations.”
STI remains committed to investing in the future of electronics manufacturing by supporting local students pursuing technical careers. Contributions to the Jim D. Raby/STI Scholarship Fund are welcome and can be made by sending a check payable to the Calhoun Foundation with a cover letter indicating the donation is for the Jim D. Raby/STI Scholarship Fund.
