Altus Break Records for Suppliers in 2025
January 20, 2025 | Altus GroupEstimated reading time: 2 minutes
Altus Group, a leading distributor of capital equipment for electronics manufacturing, is pleased to announce record-breaking sales achievements for multiple supply partners in 2024. Despite significant economic challenges and shifting market conditions, the company achieved unprecedented revenue and machine installations growth for many suppliers, driven by its ability to support manufacturers in adopting automation and improving back-end processes.
In response to labour shortages, rising wages, and growing competition for contracts, many electronics manufacturers turned to automation in 2024, targeting traditionally manual processes such as THT assembly. These strategic investments addressed immediate challenges and delivered significant returns on investment, with early adopters gaining long-term competitive advantages through improved efficiency and profitability.
Joe Booth, CEO of Altus, said: "2024 was a pivotal year for Altus and the electronics manufacturing sector. The economy and global market conditions presented unique challenges, but it also created opportunities for those willing to adapt and invest in automation for larger returns. By being nimble and listening to the needs of our customers, and working closely with our trusted suppliers, we enabled our customers to alleviate their pain points and achieve results. We’re particularly proud to have helped our key suppliers reach record-breaking sales and played a vital role in helping customers stay ahead of the curve."
Altus attributes its success to its extensive portfolio of key suppliers across a production facility, and its ability to support over 350 manufacturing sites across all sectors of electronics manufacturing. Key contributors that surpassed all expectations included PVA’s conformal coating and dispensing solutions a relatively new partner, which saw significant growth thanks to their great technology and alongside Altus and their aftersales reputation, PROMATION USA’s robotic soldering systems, which provided a much-needed automation option for THT assembly, addressing the acute difficulties currently on labour shortages and cost pressures.
Another stand out supplier was Scienscope and their advanced component management technologies, including X-ray counters and smart racks, which enabled manufacturers to streamline kitting and inventory processes, while Kolb Cleaning’s stencil and tool cleaning systems ensured optimal performance for conformal coating preparation and PCB cleanliness. Together, these suppliers helped Altus meet the rising demand for automation and efficiency across a range of applications and all recorded their best year ever in the UK & Ireland.
Altus will exhibit at the Southern Manufacturing and Electronics 2025 event in Farnborough from 4th-6th February at stand J80. The team will showcase equipment from its key suppliers, offering manufacturers a chance to see first-hand the solutions that played a key role in the company’s record-breaking year.
