IBIDEN reported strong first-quarter fiscal 2026 performance, driven by robust demand for GPUs, high-end CPUs, and AI-related semiconductor package substrates. The company said sales exceeded its initial plan due to stable production at its Cell8 facility, effective utilization of existing production capacity, and higher selling prices for high-value-added products.
Based on continued strength in its Electronics segment, IBIDEN raised its full-year FY2026 earnings outlook. The company expects demand and pricing for high-value-added semiconductor products to remain strong, with capacity utilization staying at high levels. It also anticipates growing demand for switching ICs, while noting that industry demand continues to outpace supply.
Meanwhile, the Ceramics segment faces an uncertain outlook despite a temporary increase in diesel particulate filter (DPF) orders. IBIDEN added that raw material procurement risks have eased since the start of the fiscal year, enabling more flexible use of production capacity to meet customer demand.
