Microscreen and AGI Corporation have formed the Microscreen AGI Alliance (MAA). The alliance adds AGI’s PCB tooling and engineering capabilities to Microscreen’s offerings, while providing Microscreen’s nanocoating technology to AGI’s customers.
Through MAA, Microscreen now offers its customers PCB tooling, engineered and manufactured by AGI, a longstanding tooling manufacturer with capabilities in PCB tooling, testing and automation, machining and integration. In turn, AGI now provides Microscreen’s MicroGlide advanced nanocoating process to its stencil customers.
AGI’s engineering and manufacturing teams support tooling for screen printing, SMT assembly and reflow, conformal coating, soldering, routing, inspection, test, press fit and other production applications. Microscreen provides AGI with its MicroGlide process and advanced nanocoating expertise.
“We wanted to add tooling, but we wanted to do it the right way,” said Steve Thomas, President of Microscreen. “AGI has built a strong reputation for designing manufacturing tooling for decades. Rather than trying to recreate that ourselves, we’re working with a company that has the people, equipment and decades of experience in place. At the same time, we’re bringing our advanced nanocoating technology to their customers.”
MAA also connects the manufacturing and engineering resources of the two independently owned U.S. based companies. AGI operates multiple facilities in the Southern United States, while Microscreen has locations through the Eastern and Midwest United States. Both companies can handle both day-to-day production as well as larger volume programs, while maintaining direct control over manufacturing and the ability to respond quickly when a design or production requirement changes.

Both companies will continue to operate independently and sell their own products. MAA provides the structure for Microscreen and AGI to offer these additional capabilities to their respective customers.
