Austrian technology company AT&S ranks among the most visible companies in Austria's benchmark ATX index, according to a recent analysis by media intelligence firm pressrelations. Particularly noteworthy, AT&S achieved the most positive media sentiment of all ATX companies included in the study, placing first in global media perception. At the same time, AT&S CEO Michael Mertin climbed ten positions in the CEO ranking and is now among the most visible corporate leaders in Austria's capital market. The analysis evaluated international online media coverage across 61 countries.
The company's strong visibility was driven primarily by the global artificial intelligence boom, rising demand for IC substrates and high-end printed circuit boards, and AT&S's continued international expansion. The study also identifies the expansion of the company's Kulim site in Malaysia and the inclusion of AT&S in the STOXX Europe 600 index as key factors behind its strong international media presence.
Technology with global reach
Compared with its industry peers, AT&S clearly leads Austrian industrial companies in terms of media visibility. The analysts at pressrelations particularly highlight AT&S's technology leadership, its strong position within the AI ecosystem, and its international customer base. With more than 7,400 media mentions and a potential reach of approximately 2.3 billion readers, AT&S was among the most closely watched companies in the ATX during the reporting period.
"The growing importance of artificial intelligence demonstrates just how critical advanced microelectronics have become to the digital world. We are pleased that the achievements of our employees, our technologies, and our investments are attracting significant international attention," says Michael Mertin, CEO of AT&S. Michael Mertin himself was also among the major winners of the reporting period. According to the analysis, the AT&S CEO advanced ten places in the ranking of the most visible executives among ATX-listed companies, reaching third place overall.
The study underscores the successful work of AT&S's Corporate Communications team. In an environment shaped by intense global competition for attention, the company succeeded in raising the international profile of topics such as artificial intelligence, technology leadership, international expansion, and innovation. "Few Austrian companies have developed an international narrative as compelling as AT&S. From Asian financial media to leading European publications, the company is increasingly seen as a symbol of Austria's ability to compete in the global technology economy," writes Maximilian Freissler, Head of Research & Analytics at pressrelations.
