Scanfil marked an important milestone in its growth in China with the groundbreaking of its expansion project at the Suzhou plant on June 8.
The total area will be 20,000 square meters, of which more than 15,000 square meters will be modern production and automated storage space to further strengthen the plant’s capabilities in high-end system integration and intelligent manufacturing. Sustainability will play a key role in the development, including technologies such as a geothermal heat pump system. The facility expansion is expected to be fully operational in May 2027.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by representatives from local government and Scanfil management. Christian Kesten, Group Vice President, APAC, and General Manager of Scanfil Suzhou, highlighted the strategic importance of the expansion: “Our goal is not only to build a facility, but to create long-term value for the region. This investment strengthens our ability to support customers’ growth, enhances supply chain resilience, and contributes to the local industrial ecosystem while creating new jobs.”
Scanfil has been operating in Suzhou Industrial Park since 1998 and has grown into a vital part of Scanfil operations in the Asia-Pacific region. The site has received several recognitions, including Jiangsu Provincial Advanced Intelligent Factory and Suzhou 3A Green Factory.
