Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is pleased to announce the recipients of the SEL Scholarship Program for the 2026–27 academic year. This year, SEL awarded 15 scholarships—13 valued at $5,000 and two at $2,500—to outstanding students pursuing degrees in engineering and applied technology.
The SEL Scholarship Program, administered through Scholarship America, received 321 applications from eligible students. Scholarship recipients were selected based on their academic achievements, leadership qualities, work ethic and dedication to advancing their chosen field of study. The 2026–27 scholars represent 13 colleges and universities, highlighting a diverse range of backgrounds and areas of academic focus.
“Education and innovation are central to who we are at SEL, and our scholarship program is one way we invest in the next generation of engineers and technologists,” said SEL President Dave Whitehead. “These students represent exceptional talent and determination, and we are honored to support them as they pursue their academic and professional goals.”
In addition to financial support, the SEL Scholarship Program reflects the long-standing commitment of SEL to education, innovation and empowering the next generation of engineers and technologists. By investing in students who demonstrate both technical promise and strong character, SEL aims to support future leaders who will help make electric power safer, more reliable and more economical.
The SEL Scholarship Program is open to students earning degrees in eligible engineering and technology disciplines at partner institutions across the United States. Since its inception, the program has supported students who exemplify academic excellence and a passion for making a positive impact through engineering.
