Flex PCB Body Panels in CubeSats

10/08/2026 | Anaya Vardya, American Standard Circuits
A standard CubeSat (nanosatellite) leaves an engineer with almost no room for compromise. A 1U unit is a 10 cm cube; even a 6U or 12U bus measures its budget in grams and cubic centimeters, not the kilograms and racks available to a traditional satellite. Every wire harness, connector, and mounting bracket is mass and volume that could otherwise carry a sensor, a radio, or extra battery capacity. That pressure is what has pushed flexible printed circuits out of the wiring harness and onto the structure itself, turning the body panels that form a CubeSat's outer skin into functional electronic assemblies.

The Skills Match Is Becoming the New Hiring Challenge

09/21/2026 | Brittany Martin, I-Connect007
The U.S. labor market may be settling into a more moderate hiring environment, but manufacturing hiring (including electronics manufacturing) has remained robust. Recent data from Indeed Hiring Lab show that overall U.S. job postings have hovered close to their pre-pandemic baseline, standing just 1.8% above February 2020 levels as of mid-August. Production and manufacturing, however, have gained momentum. Job postings in the sector increased approximately 8% over the past year. The latest federal job openings data tell a similar story.

The Strategic Importance of Hiring Efficiency

08/18/2026 | I-Connect007
While discussions surrounding workforce shortages often focus on the number of available workers, many manufacturers face a different challenge: securing highly qualified candidates before competing employers do. We’re in a market where experienced PCB designers, process engineers, quality specialists, manufacturing engineers, and reliability professionals are in high demand, so even modest delays in the hiring process can have measurable business consequences.
