Beyond the Rulebook
What happens when the rule book is no longer useful, or worse, was never written in the first place? In today’s fast-moving electronics landscape, we’re increasingly asked to design and build what has no precedent, no proven path, and no tidy checklist to follow. This is where “Design for Invention” begins.

IMI Philippines Confirms Full Operations Amid National Energy Emergency
April 7, 2026 | IMIEstimated reading time: 1 minute
Integrated Microelectronics Inc. (IMI) Philippines remains fully operational and committed to meeting all production and delivery obligations following the government’s declaration of a State of National Energy Emergency on 24 March 2026.
In response to potential fuel and energy risks stemming from geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, IMI has activated its Business Continuity Plans to ensure uninterrupted operations. Measures include close coordination with utility providers, the use of redundant power systems and emergency fuel reserves, prioritized logistics arrangements, production scheduling adjustments, and enhanced energy efficiency initiatives across facilities.
IMI does not anticipate disruptions to customer commitments at this time. Teams across operations, engineering, procurement, logistics, and customer service remain fully mobilized to support continuity and on-time delivery.
The government’s Executive Order authorizes nationwide interventions, including fuel allocation planning, procurement from alternative markets, enforcement against hoarding, implementation of the UPLIFT framework, and energy conservation measures. These actions, alongside accelerated procurement of additional fuel reserves, aim to strengthen national energy security.
IMI will continue to closely monitor developments and remains committed to transparency and timely communication should operational conditions change.

05/07/2026 | Dan Beaulieu -- Column: Dan's Biz BookshelfEvery once in a while, a book comes along that doesn’t just make you think, it makes you sit up straighter and ask: Why aren’t we doing this better? "Abundance" is exactly that kind of book. When so much of our national conversation revolves around scarcity—housing, energy, infrastructure, and opportunity—authors Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson flip the script. They argue, persuasively and intelligently, that America’s real problem isn’t a lack of ideas. It’s a lack of execution.
