The design dynamic duo, Design007 Magazine and the Design007 Week newsletter, covered a wide range of topics in 2025. Here are the top 10 design-related articles, columns and news reports for the year. This list, comprised of two columns, three articles, and five news items, relies entirely on readership numbers, making for as fair a comparison as possible.
The top five items on the list all speak to industry strategic concerns: trends to watch, tariffs, supply chain, and market growth. But readers seemed to draw a line between the top and bottom halves of the list. Items six through 10 shift the focus to technical podcasts, books, and articles, like UHDI, thermal issues, and high-speed design.
Interestingly, readers responded in a limited way to news from the CAD tool vendors. Notably, KICAD and Digikey’s news back in March made the top 10, but reader attention was more focused on the design considerations themselves than the tools used to implement them.
Interestingly, while only two columns cracked the top 10, the top 50 list boasts 22 entries by columnists, which speaks to the insight our cadre of columnists brings to the design community groupthink.
