Dan’s Biz Bookshelf: Go Live! Turn Virtual Connections into Paying Customers
It’s no secret that author Jeffrey Gitomer is one of the best in the business when it comes to showing the way to millions of sales professionals. His books are always jampacked with inspirational ideas on how to be better salespeople and this book is no exception.
Go Live! is about winning sales virtually. It is the ultimate primer about how to sell successfully without visiting customers by developing virtual and video sales strategies in the new normal.
Just as he always does in his own inimitable style, Gitomer gives the reader a step-by-step process on producing podcasts that grow and build a tribe of loyal followers because, as he says, “The best time to start a podcast was 10 years ago. And the second best time is now.”
These steps include a how-to on setting up and recording a podcast so that it looks professional, what your messaging should look like, how to get it out on all your social media platforms, how to consistently produce interesting and attractive podcasts, and more. This book has it all.
I feel the chapter on mastering your own social media, from Facebook Live to LinkedIn and Twitter, is worth the price of the book.
One of the most important aspects of Go Live! is that it takes into consideration B2B sales. Gitomer writes, “Your social footprint, your social presence is your message and your brand power, both corporately and personally… (in a very short time) you can be posting value based messages and mastering your social outreach and social footprint.”
As with everything he does, Gitomer makes it sound easy, and if you follow his directions and listen to his advice, you too can be selling more successfully and more productively than when you were actually visiting customers.
Think about how many customers you can visit in a day—two or three? Maybe 10 or 12 on a good week? Now think about reaching hundreds or maybe even thousands at a time with your sales messaging.
If you’re serious about taking your sales effort to the next level, then this is the book for you.
