Electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider ESCATEC has completed the development of a new control room at ESCATEC Mechatronics Ltd (EUK) in Lutterworth, UK. The investment strengthens the facility’s ability to support medical device, healthcare and other highly regulated manufacturing programmes requiring tightly controlled production environments.
The new control room represents the latest milestone in a series of strategic investments this year at EUK to expand its medical manufacturing capabilities. The first was achieving ISO 13485 certification in June, enabling EUK to support a wider range of customers operating in the regulated medical device sector. This was followed by a significant investment in advanced SMT capabilities that enhanced the facility’s capacity for high-mix and high-complexity projects.
Covering 100 square metres, the control room incorporates real-time temperature and humidity monitoring, ESD-safe flooring and controlled lighting. The environment is designed to support manufacturing activities where contamination control, traceability, process consistency and product quality are critical requirements. In addition to supporting future customer projects, the control room further strengthens EUK’s role within ESCATEC’s global medical manufacturing network.
ESCATEC already supports a diverse portfolio of medical and healthcare customers, providing end-to-end contract manufacturing services spanning design & development, product certification, high-level assembly, full box builds, and after-sales support.
"The completion of this control room marks another important step in our ongoing investment programme at EUK," said ESCATEC CEO Charles-Alexandre Albin. "Together with ISO 13485 certification and our recent SMT investment, it strengthens EUK’s ability to support medical device, healthcare and other high-reliability manufacturing programmes while giving customers access to ESCATEC's wider global manufacturing ecosystem and specialist capabilities.”
