Neways, the global innovator in mission-critical technology for leading semicon, defense & mobility, and connectivity companies, has signed an agreement with SRC, Inc., a not-for-profit U.S. research and development corporation specializing in developing, manufacturing and servicing advanced defense technologies. Under the agreement, Neways will act as SRC’s European industrial partner. The partnership combines SRC’s advanced defense research and technology with Neways’ technology, engineering and manufacturing strength in Europe.
The agreement was signed during a ceremony at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Washington, D.C., as part of the NL-US Defense Industry Days. Alongside representatives of Neways and SRC, the ceremony was attended by the Dutch State Secretary for Defense, the Dutch Ambassador to the United States, and the Dutch military attaché. The agreement builds on the long-standing defense relationship between the Netherlands and the United States.
SRC develops technologies that help armed forces in the field, including electronic warfare, counter-drone systems and protection against radio-controlled threats.
Neways’ in-house engineers design and build complex, mission-critical electronics, from microelectronics to complete systems. For SRC, Neways will take technologies from prototype through testing and qualification to reliable series production in Europe, backed by trusted supply chains.
Michiel van der Maat, Chief Commercial Officer of Neways, comments: “Advanced defense technology delivers its full value when it can be produced reliably and in the volumes armed forces need. SRC brings deep research expertise and a strong understanding of military requirements. We add our own engineering and technology strength to make their innovations ready for production in Europe. Defense is a strategic growth market for Neways. Partnerships like this show how transatlantic cooperation can strengthen Europe’s industrial base and security of supply.”
Kevin Hair, president and CEO of SRC, comments: “This agreement will strengthen European sovereign capabilities by expanding local industrial capacity, technical expertise and in-country support, while establishing a foundation for long-term collaboration across European markets. SRC and Neways’ combined expertise will enable a more localized approach to supporting European customers, strengthening in-country capabilities while contributing to the resilience and growth of Europe’s defense industrial base. Together with Neways, we will bring defense technologies into production faster, in support of the readiness of the United States and its allies.”
