Blackfox, an IPC Authorized Training Center and a leading provider of IPC training and certification services, has launched a redesigned website at www.blackfox.com, built to get customers from a question to a scheduled class in fewer steps. The site is available in English and Spanish and works the same on a phone as on a desktop.
On the new training calendar, a visitor can narrow the schedule by location, program, certification level or month, then register from the result itself. The calendar is one click from the home page and registration is the next, and the Training Finder can use a visitor’s location to show the nearest dates first. Instructor pages list the IPC programs each trainer is certified to teach.
“Most of the people who come to us already know the standard they need and the week they can spare,” said Jamie Noland, Master IPC Trainer and director of training and education at Blackfox. “They can now answer the rest themselves in about a minute: pick the standard, pick the city, see the next class that fits.”
Blackfox has trained the electronics manufacturing industry since 1996, and much of what it teaches is its own: soldering and mechanical assembly for operators and for instructors, ESD and component recognition, printed circuit board repair, system integration, counterfeit component detection, and lead free and high temperature soldering, with soldering courses built around a customer’s own processes. Blackfox also delivers the IPC programs behind industry-traceable certification, among them IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 and IPC 7711/7721. Classes run at six locations across the United States, Mexico and Southeast Asia, including Longmont, Colorado and Phoenix, Arizona, as well as live online in English and Spanish and on site at customer facilities, always led by a Master IPC Trainer.
“The people in our classes build hardware that has to work the first time and every time. What happens in that room does not change: same criteria, same instructors, and the records to back every certificate,” Noland said. “What has changed is how they want to find and schedule the training, and this site is built for that.”
