United Electronics Corporation (UEC), a domestic manufacturer of printed circuit boards, today announced the addition of a Shoda Techtron MVC-630D Multi V-Scoring System at its Franklin Park facility. The fully automatic, camera-aligned scoring system gives UEC customers tighter score accuracy, cleaner board edges, and expanded capability on aluminum- and copper-backed boards.
What It Means for Your Boards
Scores to your artwork, not to tooling holes. The MVC-630D uses camera alignment rather than pin registration, reading fiducials or tooling holes on each panel and adjusting automatically for panel shrink and expansion. Scores land where your design says they should — even on panels that have moved through processing — holding score placement and web thickness within ±0.03mm.
Cleaner scores on thin and difficult boards. Rather than pushing the panel past a fixed cutter, the MVC-630D holds the panel still and moves the cutter across it. The result is a smoother, more consistent score line and reliable web thickness, on material as thin as 0.3mm.
Dry aluminum scoring — no contamination. Metal-backed boards are typically scored wet, which leaves residue behind, and are prone to surface scratching from cutting dust. The MVC-630D scores aluminum dry, with a dust containment design that protects the board surface. Customers get clean, ready-to-assemble metal-backed boards without a secondary cleaning step.
Fully automatic handling. Automatic loading, unloading, and panel rotation let the system score both directions of an array without an operator touching the boards, reducing the handling damage that can occur on delicate or high-value panels.
Together with recent additions to UEC's drilling and routing capacity, the MVC-630D broadens the range of work UEC can build in-house across FR-4, glass epoxy, phenolic, aluminum, and copper-backed constructions — shortening lead times and keeping more of the process under one roof.
Continued Investment in Domestic Manufacturing

The MVC-630D is now installed and in production at UEC's Franklin Park facility, serving customers across the automotive, aerospace, defense, medical, and industrial electronics markets.
