Foxconn Technology Group participated in the 2026 Japan-Taiwan Image Exhibition for the first time. From July 15 to 17, at the Smart City Pavilion in the Sumitomo Building Triangle Plaza, Shinjuku, Tokyo, Foxconn showcased its smart electric vehicles MODEL A and MODEL B, along with a Modular Data Center (MDC) supporting AI Factory. All three exhibits made their first public appearance in Japan, centered on two themes: smart electric vehicles and AI infrastructure, highlighting Foxconn's work in smart mobility and AI computing infrastructure.
Organized by the Foreign Trade Administration of Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs and run by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, the 2026 Japan-Taiwan Image Exhibition carried the theme "Innovate for Tomorrow: Taiwan and Japan Creating a Better Future Together." It spanned fields including AI, smart manufacturing, smart cities, smart energy, and smart healthcare, showcasing Taiwan's industrial innovation and promoting exchange between Taiwan and Japan.
Hon Hai Vice President and Spokesperson Wu Chun-yi said, "Japan is a crucial market for Hon Hai, where we continue to build our presence. In addition to serving our Tier 1 ICT clients in Japan, we've also expanded production in Japan's EV and AI industries in recent years. By participating in the Japan-Taiwan Expo, we hope to showcase our integrated capabilities, from product design and R&D through mass production, along with our CDMS business model and BOL strategy, through the demonstration of our smart electric vehicles, helping clients accelerate product launches. At the same time, we're showcasing our AI modular data center for the first time, demonstrating Hon Hai's core capabilities in building AI infrastructure solutions."
Foxconn's commercial and passenger vehicle products have continued expanding into overseas markets under the CDMS business model in recent years. MODEL A and MODEL B, on display at the exhibition, reflected Foxconn's progress in developing diverse vehicle platforms and passenger products. MODEL A, developed for the Japanese market, offered high platform flexibility and could extend to applications including MPVs, taxis, and logistics vehicles to meet the needs of different cities and industries. The taxi version on display focused on urban passenger service, integrating AI-powered translation, a smart battery system, and spacious cabin and luggage space for an efficient, comfortable driving experience. MODEL B targeted younger drivers and urban mobility needs. The version shown was the commercially available FOXTRON BRIA, which launched in Taiwan this year and combined a pure electric platform, streamlined design, intelligent driving assistance, and active safety technology.
AI infrastructure marked another focus of Foxconn's participation in the exhibition. The company showed its modular data center supporting AI Factory in Japan for the first time. Built on a standardized, modular design, it integrated core subsystems including IT equipment, power supply, heat dissipation, and liquid cooling. The system helped enterprises quickly build scalable AI computing infrastructure for applications such as AI Factory, enterprise AI, and high-performance computing, demonstrating Foxconn's capabilities in AI infrastructure, from system design and subsystem integration to rapid deployment.
