Omega EMS, a leading provider of electronics manufacturing services, announced the addition of three advanced inspection systems at its San Jose, California manufacturing facility. The investment includes two new Koh Young Zenith Single L 3D Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems and a second ViTrox Technologies V810i S2 EX 3D X-ray inspection system, further strengthening the company's commitment to manufacturing quality, automation, and operational excellence.
With the deployment of the two additional Koh Young AOI systems, Omega EMS has now implemented inline 3D automated optical inspection across every surface mount technology (SMT) production line at its San Jose facility. This capability enables consistent, automated inspection throughout SMT production, supporting earlier defect detection, improved process control, and enhanced product quality.
Complementing this investment, the addition of a second ViTrox 3D X-ray inspection system doubles Omega EMS's 3D X-ray inspection capacity. The advanced technology enables detailed inspection of complex printed circuit board assemblies, including hidden solder joints and other critical features that cannot be fully evaluated through conventional optical inspection. The expanded capacity provides greater flexibility, improved throughput, and additional inspection resources to support increasingly complex customer requirements.
"These investments represent another important step in our ongoing commitment to manufacturing excellence," said Christopher Alessio, President and CEO of Omega EMS. "With inline AOI now deployed across every SMT line in San Jose and our 3D X-ray inspection capacity doubled, we're strengthening our ability to deliver consistent quality while supporting higher production volumes and increasingly complex assemblies. It's about staying ahead of our customers' needs and continuing to invest in the capabilities that differentiate Omega EMS."
The addition of these systems reflects Omega EMS's broader strategy of investing in advanced manufacturing equipment, automation, and quality assurance technologies. By expanding inspection capabilities across its SMT operations, Omega EMS continues to enhance its ability to support both new product introductions and ongoing production programs while maintaining the high standards of quality and reliability its customers expect.
