In an industry where precision and reliability are paramount, STI Electronics Inc. recently celebrated a remarkable milestone: the production of its 1 millionth power supply board for L3Harris Technologies’ state-of-the-art night vision goggles. This achievement not only marks a significant volume for military electronics manufacturing but also highlights the enduring partnership between STI and L3Harris.
A Milestone 20 Years in the Making
STI began supplying power supplies for L3Harris’s night vision goggles in 2004, and the current version of the product has been in production since 2007. Over nearly two decades, the companies have delivered more than 1 million units, a rare accomplishment in military manufacturing, where production runs are often much smaller.
“There aren’t many military products with a million units made,” says David Raby, president and CEO of STI, reflecting on the significance. “L3Harris has done a fantastic job perfecting this design, keeping it current with leading-edge technology.”
A Community Celebration with a High-hech Twist
On April 16, STI hosted a celebration that brought together employees, local officials, and key stakeholders. The event featured remarks from STI leadership, representatives from L3Harris, and local dignitaries, including Alabama Congressman Dale Strong and Madison (Alabama) Mayor Paul Finley. This provided a unique opportunity to showcase STI’s role in supporting the military’s cutting-edge technology.
