Barnes Aerospace Appoints George Whittier as CEO

Barnes Aerospace, a global provider of component repair services and manufacturer of highly-engineered parts primarily for aeroengines and an operating division of Barnes Group Inc., announced the appointment of George Whittier to the newly created role of CEO, effective May 12, 2025. Current Barnes Aerospace President, Ian Reason, will remain with Barnes Group Inc. as Senior Vice President through December 2025 to ensure a seamless transition.
Mr. Whittier has over two decades of experience in the manufacturing and defense sectors. Most recently, he served as CEO of Fairbanks Morse Defense, where he led the company's transformation from a premier naval engine supplier to a diversified defense contractor offering a comprehensive array of products, services, and technologies.

About George Whittier
George Whittier most recently served as CEO of Fairbanks Morse Defense, a principal supplier of a growing array of leading marine technologies, OEM parts, and turnkey services, including MRO, to the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command, and Canadian Coast Guard. Prior to Fairbanks Morse Defense, Mr. Whittier served as President and COO of The Morey Corporation, a leading electronics manufacturing services company. He is the co-founder and Chairman of the Wisconsin Defense Industry Council, an organization dedicated to strengthening and supporting Wisconsin’s defense industry through collaborative advocacy, information sharing and networking. He also serves on the boards of Beloit 200 and PDC, a leading manufacturer of hydrogen processing equipment. Mr. Whittier holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from Queens University of Charlotte.
