Global Citizenship: Training the Next Generation of Talent
I believe that the most important assets of any company are the people. Business is all about the people whether it be our customers, suppliers or, most importantly, our own team members. All business is based on people-to-people relationships. Whether you own a three-person hot dog stand or a multi-billion-dollar corporation with thousands of employees, these transactions are based on how we work with one another.
When it comes to our own people, the more time we spend training them, the better they will assimilate into our organization and become key contributors to the good of the company and themselves.
With this in mind, I want to talk about how CEE trains our people. I hope you will find some helpful ideas, as I am sure many companies like ours are facing ever-increasing challenges. We must have the ability to attract, develop, and retain talent if we want to maintain a competitive edge. At CEE, we recognize that nurturing young professionals is more than just an investment in the future; it is an essential component of our corporate philosophy. Through our comprehensive “Eaglets” training program, we are dedicated to equipping the next generation with the skills, knowledge, and experiences necessary to thrive in the dynamic world of PCB manufacturing.
Structure of the ‘Eaglets’ Program
This program is meticulously designed to provide a robust foundation for new employees, ensuring their seamless integration into the company while preparing them for long-term career growth. This initiative follows a structured format: “Train for one year, then follow-up for two years.”
In 2024, we welcomed 46 “Eaglets” into our company, predominantly assigning them to three key departments: technology, quality, and production. These areas are the key factors of our operations, and by immersing new employees in these critical functions, we ensure they gain a holistic understanding of the industry and the intricate processes that drive CEE PCB forward.
The training is structured to cover a six-month probation period, divided into the following phases:
One week of basic training: New hires undergo an intensive introduction to the company’s vision, values, and operational framework. This includes meetings with key leadership figures, enabling the Eaglets to gain valuable insights into our corporate culture and strategic goals.
Two months of hands-on production line experience: Understanding the fundamentals of manufacturing is imperative for any professional in the PCB industry. By working directly on production lines, the Eaglets develop firsthand knowledge of the processes and challenges involved in creating high-quality circuit boards. This hands-on approach fosters a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, efficiency, and teamwork.
Three months of departmental internships: To ensure a well-rounded experience, trainees participate in various departmental rotations. This phase includes attending in-depth lectures, engaging in interdepartmental exchanges (including exposure to different factories and teams), and taking part in leisure activities designed to build camaraderie among employees. This multifaceted approach not only enhances their technical knowledge but also instills a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration.
Freedom to Choose and Opportunities for Growth
A distinguishing feature of the Eaglets program is its flexibility. Upon completing the training period, employees can select a position that aligns with their interests and strengths. By allowing new hires to explore different facets of the company, we empower them to make informed career decisions.
Furthermore, the program is designed to provide relatively equal opportunities for professional growth. The Eaglets receive promotion prospects just like any other employee at CEEPCB. This meritocratic approach fosters motivation, engagement, and long-term commitment, as employees feel valued and recognized for their contributions.
Long-term Impact of Training and Development
At CEE PCB, we firmly believe that continuous learning is the key to success. Our training programs have an additional two years of follow-up support, allowing trainees to continue developing their skills, refining their expertise, and adapting to the evolving demands of the industry.
Our approach to training goes beyond imparting technical knowledge; it also emphasizes developing soft skills, leadership capabilities, and a global perspective. By fostering a learning-oriented culture, we equip our employees with the adaptability and resilience needed to excel in a rapidly changing environment.
Building a Future of Innovation and Excellence
The success of CEE PCB hinges on the expertise, dedication, and innovation of our workforce. By prioritizing comprehensive training and professional development, we are not only investing in individuals but also securing the future of our company. Our Eaglets program is a testament to our unwavering commitment to nurturing talent, fostering leadership, and shaping the next generation of industry professionals.
As we refine and expand our training initiatives, we remain dedicated to creating an environment where employees can learn, grow, and succeed. At CEEPCB, we believe that training is not just about acquiring skills—it is about empowering individuals to reach their full potential and drive meaningful progress in the global PCB industry.
As a true advocate for global citizenship, I welcome any of you (even our competitors) to get in touch to discuss these training programs. It’s all for the further development of the PCB industry.
