MVTec Opens Sales Office in the Benelux Region
February 19, 2025 | MVTecEstimated reading time: 2 minutes
MVTec Software GmbH (www.mvtec.com), a leading international manufacturer for machine vision software, is expanding its presence in the Netherlands, the Flemish part of Belgium, and Luxembourg. The company is opening a sales office in the Dutch city of Utrecht on March 1, 2025, to provide even more direct support to its customers in the Benelux region. Martin Krumey, Vice President Sales at MVTec, explains: “Machine vision technology offers enormous added value for a wide range of applications. In order to achieve this, competent advice directly on site is very important. With our new sales office, we are paving the way for this while also decisively advancing our internationalization strategy in the important Benelux machine vision market.”
MVTec develops and offers the following software products: HALCON, a comprehensive machine vision standard software; MERLIC, an easy-to-use software for developing comprehensive, sophisticated machine vision applications; and the Deep Learning Tool, which facilitates image data labeling for MVTec's deep learning methods.
Seasoned machine vision experts support customers locally
The first MVTec employees at the new sales office in Utrecht are Harm Hanekamp and Roderik Weijenberg. “In Harm and Roderik, we have two highly qualified and experienced local specialists with in-depth machine vision expertise. Our customers in the Benelux region will benefit from sound advice and support from day one,” explains Martin Krumey. As a sales manager, Harm Hanekamp is responsible for sales. He has more than 18 years of experience in the machine vision industry and in MVTec product sales in the Netherlands. “I am very familiar with the entire MVTec portfolio and know the technologies and the company inside out. This expertise helps me explain the advantages and the strategic choice for HALCON, MERLIC and the Deep Learning Tool to our customers,” says Harm Hanekamp.
In the new sales office, Roderik Weijenberg will be providing technical support to customers, conducting evaluations, and supporting the sales team as a technical sales engineer. Familiar with the customer’s perspective, Roderik also has extensive experience in machine vision and working with HALCON. “The machine vision market in the Benelux countries, with its highly specialized value chains in areas such as semiconductor manufacturing or agriculture, places high requirements on industrial image processing. MVTec is excellently positioned with its powerful and hardware-independent software products. I am pleased to help write this success story,” explains Roderik Weijenberg.
New sales office – part of the international expansion strategy
The opening of the new sales office in Utrecht is another step in MVTec's internationalization strategy. The stated goal is to penetrate the market even more intensively and to unlock the existing growth potential together with strong partners. Martin Krumey explains: “Thanks to our partners, the Benelux region is already a very attractive and important market. The potential of machine vision technology is so great that we want to tap into additional untapped market potential with our own specialists. Our colleagues speak the customers' language, are established in the market and familiar with the specific challenges. Thus, companies benefit from excellent service and qualified support directly from the manufacturer.”
