Jaltek Joins UK’s National Manufacturing Day
September 20, 2024 | JaltekEstimated reading time: 1 minute
On Thursday 26th September, as part of Make UK’s National Manufacturing Day, we will be opening our doors and inviting local students in to our factory for a behind-the-scenes look at our manufacturing facility and how it works.
This is our opportunity to showcase the diversity of a truly fascinating and wonderfully diverse sector, the range of highly skilled jobs on offer and the amazing opportunities for career development within manufacturing in the UK.
Just some of the schools and colleges we have attending include; Barnfield College, Cardinal Newman, Lealands High School, Icknield High School, Challney High School and Chiltern Academy. Each group will receive a welcome talk from our Managing Director followed by a tour of the factory from a member of the Jaltek team.
We are thrilled to also have Stewart Edmondson, CEO of UKESF ( UK electronics Skills Foundation) and Owain Issac, also of UKESF, in partnership with Nicola Mortimer, Programme Lead at TECH Lancaster, supporting the day and providing a presentation on the electronics industry and the variety of education opportunities that are available.
Julie Lockwood and Louise Lynch of Luton Council have provided invaluable support with reaching out to the local schools and colleges in preparation for this event and we’re really looking forward to a hugely successful, informative and insightful day for the students.
